Case for Special Needs Children at St. Senan’s School in Kilrush to be re-examined. – BREEN.
During the recent debate on the Fine Gael Private Members Motion in Dail Eireann, Deputy Breen urged Minister O’Keeffe to have the courage to admit that he got this one wrong and reverse this decision.
“The Department has now acknowledged that the children in the Special Needs Class attending St. Senan’s N.S. have specific difficulties and I understand that the Department have now advised the School to make contact with the Special Educational Needs Organiser so that this case can be re-examined. This is a welcome move and I hope that a solution can be found now which will satisfactorily address the educational needs of these children.”
“It is important that any solution takes into account the geographical terrain of West Clare as these parents are already making huge sacrifices to get their children to School in Kilrush.”
“I will be keeping a watching brief on developments to ensure that these childrens educational needs are adequately addressed.”
