Breen welcomes Children’s Ministers €238,000 commitment to Clare’s young people.

Clare Government Deputy Pat Breen has welcomed the €238,000 funding allocation for 2011 to Youth Service Organisations in County Clare. This funding allocation, Deputy Breen said “shows the Children’s Minister Frances Fitzgerald is committed to funding projects which are extremely important for the young people of County Clare.

Funding Allocations for 2011 to Youth Services in County Clare are as follows:

Ennis YIC €60,319.

Clare Youth Service Disadvantaged Outreach €74,818

Ennis Literacy Project, Clare Youth Service €100,718.

“I welcome the funding commitment of €238,000 to Clare’s Youth Services by the Minister for Children, Frances Fitzgerald for 2011, particularly given these difficult budgetary circumstances.”

“Clare Youth Services work with over 3,002 young people in 27 locations throughout the County. They do excellent work in supporting a range of different programmes for our young people ranging from Youth Clubs, to music programmes, youth cafes, community action and social and personal development.”

“The allocation of €100,718 is particularly welcome for the Ennis Literacy Project which is a very important programme, helping and empowering young people in disadvantaged areas.”

“I commend the Staff, Board Members and volunteers for their excellent work in delivering very varying programmes for our young people throughout the County. These programmes are very important in allowing our young people to develop to their full potential.”0AEnnis YIC €60,319.
