Good news for Ennis National School – Way cleared for the project to advance to construction in 2012 – BREEN.

Chairman of the Oireachtas Committee on Foreign Affairs and Trade & Clare T.D. Pat Breen said today (Monday) that he is delighted with the news that Ennis National School has been included as one of 25 New Primary Schools that have been approved to advance to construction in 2012, which have been announced this morning by the Minister for Education and Skills Ruairi Quinn T.D.

“This is very good news for the pupils, teachers and Board of Management of Ennis National School who have campaigned long and hard over a long number years for a new School and I compliment them for their effort which has culminated in today’s announcement.”

“I have campaigned long and hard for this project since my Election to Dail Eireann and only last week I met Department Officials to discuss this project.”

“The School was originally built in 1971 and given the increase in the population of Ennis; the current school is not fit for purpose. Today’s announcement will at last see the end of the use of prefabs which the teachers and pupils have to endure for quite a number of years and paves the way for the cons
