Clare T.D. and Chairman of the Oireachtas Committee on Foreign Affairs has welcomed the news that additional accommodation has been sanctioned for Bridgetown National School.

“I was pleased to be informed by the Minister for Education and Skills Ruairi Quinn T.D. that additional accommodation has been approved for Bridgetown National School. Sanction has been granted for a 1 x 80m2 Main Stream Classroom and a 1 x 16m2 Resource Room.

This additional accommodation is being provided to cater for the increase in population in the area over the past number of years. 130 pupils now attend the six teacher school.

This is very good news for the staff, pupils and families in the Bridgetown Area and shows that our Government is dedicated to enhancing the education sector in County Clare.

This development will also bring employment during the construction phase in due course and in return provide a boost to the local economy.”
