The South African Ambassador to Ireland will tomorrow appear before the Oireachtas Joint Committee on Foreign Affairs and Trade to mark the passing of Nelson Mandela.
The presence of His Excellency Jeremiah Ndou will afford Committee Members an opportunity to offer their sympathies to the Mandela family and the wider South African nation.
Chairman of the Committee Pat Breen TD says: “Nelson Mandela was a towering political figure of our time, who inspired a generation through his courage, humanity and leadership from the dark days of apartheid to democracy and the realisation of the Rainbow Nation. Tomorrow, Committee Members will have the opportunity to share their memories of an heroic statesman who has left an indelible mark on his nation and wider humanity.”
The meeting, which will be broadcast live on Oireachtas UPC Channel 207, will take place in Committee Room 1 in LH 2000 at 2:30 pm tomorrow Wednesday 11 December. It can be viewed online here: http://www.oireachtas.ie/parliament/watchlisten/live-flashplayer/committeeroom1/
