BREEN EXPRESSES SYMPATHY ON THE PASSING OF FORMER FG DEPUTY AND HOTELIER JIM WHITE RIP

September 3rd, 2014 - Pat Breen

Clare T.D. and Chairman of the Oireachtas Committee on Foreign Affairs and Trade Pat Breen has today (Wednesday) expressed his condolences on the passing of Jim White, former Fine Gael Deputy and founder of the White Hotel Group.

Jim White was a member of Dail Eireann from 1973 to 1981 when he resigned his seat and was also a very successful businessman and hotelier.

He was a noted hotelier figure in the Hotel Tourism Industry here in County Clare and made an enormous contribution to the economic development of Lisdoonvarna where a number of his White Hotel Group hotels are located.

Jim’s innovative and enterprising spirit was the key to the success of the White Hotel Group. He recognised the economic role of Holiday Coach Tours and was one of the pioneers of international coach tour marketing with Coach Hotel Tourism continuing to play a very significant role in attracting international tourists into this County.

I would like to extend my deepest sympathy to Caroline, Bettina, Marcus, Sinead, James Jnr, Megan and Mitchell on the death of their father.

Ar Dheis De go raibh an anam.”
