Chairman of the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Foreign Affairs and Trade and Clare T.D. Pat Breen has welcomed the announcement that €10,000 in funding has been allocated to Ballyea National School through the Department of Children’s Lottery Grant Allocation for 2014.
“I was very pleased to support the application from Ballyea National School and I am delighted that they have been allocated €10,000 after the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs, James Reilly TD made the announcement of the allocation of National Lottery funding for 2014 today (Monday).
The Principal, Staff, Board of Management and the Parents Association have been very proactive in developing the School with the ethos of a providing the children with an all-round education.
This funding will assist the School to develop a play area adjacent to the School. Their plans include the development of flower beds and similar mini project which will help to provide the children with a broader education.”
The funding announced today is part of a national programme which will see €910,000 allocated towards providing services for young people. This year the scheme is particularly targeting small scale projects and it focuses on activities that involve culture and play, young people led initiatives, healthy lifestyle and those that provide access for marginal groups to extra circular activities.
