BREEN welcomes funding for Coastal Study in Clahanes, Liscannor and Lahinch

April 9th, 2015 - Pat Breen

Clare T.D. and Chairman of the Oireachtas Committee on Foreign Affairs and Trade Pat Breen has welcomed the news that the OPW has approved funding for a single coastal erosion and flood risk management study for Liscannor Bay with particular focus on each of the three locations; Clahane, Liscannor and Lahinch.

“Following representations, I was pleased to be informed by the Minister of State, with responsibility for the OPW, Simon Harris T.D., today (Tuesday) that the OPW has agreed in principle to provide funding to Clare County Council to undertake this study

I understand that Clare County Council will be tendering for consultants to undertake the study. This study will provide very important conclusions for flood protection works in these areas and I hope that the report can be finalised as soon as possible.”
