“I welcome the fact that the pickets have now been lifted at the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Centre. At the end of the day, the only way that a dispute can be resolved is if both parties sit down around the table. I am happy that both sides have now agreed to return to the LRC, and I would urge them to leave the door open until they reach a mutually acceptable agreement.

“Huge efforts are being made to have the Cliffs of Moher, named as one of the 7 New Wonders of the World. It has been listed in the top 28 and the third and final phase of voting is well underway with the official declaration of the new 7 wonders of Nature taking place on the 11th November 2011. Visitors numbers have increased this year, at the North Clare tourist spot with 345,398 people visiting the Cliffs in the first six months of this year, up 19% compared to the same period last year.”

“It is important if the Cliffs of Moher is to build on the first six months success that an amicable resolution to the current dispute is found next week and I wish both sides well as they re-enter talks on Monday.”
