Corofin heritage buildings to benefit from funding under the Structures at Risk Fund 2015

Clare T.D. and Chairman of the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Foreign Affairs and Trade has welcomed the Adelphi House, Clifden, Corofin is one of 28 Heritage structures across the country which are to benefit from a total of €624,000 in funding under the Structures at Risk Fund 2015,

Under the Scheme, €30,000 has been allocated to Adelphi House, Clifden, Corofin.

The funding will allow conservation work to be carried out on 28 heritage structures in both private and public ownership deemed to be at significant risk of deterioration and which are protected under the Planning and Development Act 2000, as amended.

“Our built heritage is an incredibly important asset in terms of tourism and for pride and enjoyment of local communities. I was very pleased to see this scheme continue this year as it allows individuals and local authorities to take positive action to protect heritage buildings and structures in their area and to have Adelphi House included this year.”

Typical works funded under the scheme include roof repairs, structural consolidation and measures to ensure weather tightness. The scheme encourages the regeneration and reuse of heritage properties and helps to secure the preservation of protected structures which might otherwise be lost.
