€11, 423.00 in Capital Grant Funding for Clare’s Youth Service

December 1st, 2014 - Pat Breen

Clare T.D. and Chairman of the Oireachtas Committee on Foreign Affairs and Trade Deputy Pat Breen has welcomed the announcement by the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs, James Reilly TD, that €11,423.00 has been allocated to the Clare Youth Service.

“The aim of this capital funding scheme is to provide much needed assistance to youth projects to improve the facilities and equipment available for their work with young people in the communities. Over €400,000 has been allocated across the country to local projects and €75,000 has gone towards national organisations.

“€11,423.00 has been allocated to the Clare Youth Service to go towards cost of computer and office equipment. Clare Youth Services do excellent work with the young people of Clare and I am very pleased that they have secured this funding.

“Youth services do vital work in some of the more disadvantaged communities in our society and I am confident that this money will make a significant difference in improving the quality of service provided.

“Youth Projects rely heavily on the work and dedication of volunteers to keep them going. These organisations are also heavily dependent on fundraising so I know that this grant will be welcomed by everyone involved.

“The Capital funding scheme for small to medium capital grants is open to applications from the Department of Children and Youth Affairs. The grant scheme remains open for applications in early 2015 for capital projects related to health and safety improvements to premises. I would encourage youth groups working in the sector who need to make improvements or upgrade buildings to consider applying for this funding.”
