€300,000.00 funding approved under the Rural Development Programme for development works to Inagh Community Centre – BREEN

January 14th, 2013 - Pat Breen

Clare TD and Chairman of the Oireachtas Committee on Foreign Affairs and Trade Pat Breen said today (Monday) that there is further good news for County Clare today with the news that Phil Hogan, T.D., Minister for Environment, Community and Local Government has given sanction for Clare Local Development Company to approve funding of €300,000, to Inagh Development Limited, for the development of Inagh Community Centre at Inagh, Co Clare, under the Conservation and upgrading of the Rural Heritage and Basic Services for the Economy and Rural Population measures of the Rural Development Programme 2007-2013.

This comes on top of the earlier announcement of funding of €386,193 for the development of a Community and Cultural Centre in Kilkishen under the same Programme.

“This funding is very welcome news for Inagh. The total cost of the project is €612,485 and this grant of €300,000.00 will facilitate the local community to develop and expand their local community hall, which is they are very anxious to do.

There will be two elements to the development, consisting of the conservation and refurbishment of the existing 17th century building and the construction of a new adjoining hall. I know it will improve the quality of life and will strengthen the social and economic fabric for all the areas inhabitants.”

The Clare Local Development Company through the Rural Development Programme are doing tremendous work in improving the quality of life for people living in rural areas and I would pay tribute to them for this work and also compliment the Inagh Development Company for their efforts in bringing this project to fruition and wish them well with the project.”
