Minister of State for the Gaeltacht, Dinny McGinley T.D. to visit County Clare – BREEN.

Chairman of the Oireachtas Committee on Foreign Affairs and Trade Pat Breen T.D. said today (Tuesday) that he is delighted that the Minister of State with responsibility for the Gaeltacht Dinny McGinley T.D. has accepted his invitation to visit County Clare and that the Minister will undertake a series of engagements in County Clare on Thursday, 22nd March 2012.

“Choláiste Uí Chomhraí in Carrigaholt which attracts hundreds of Irish Students each summer is celebrating its centenary this year and this will be the first port call for the Gaeltacht Minister Dinny McGinley TD on Thursday morning. From there he will travel on to Querrin to visit the “Seol Sionna” project, where a group from the West Clare Carrach Club are building a 25ft wooden boat evoking the small to medium Shannon Hooker that once sailed in the Estuary.”

“Minister McGinley will also visit the Gael Scoil in Kilrush and meet with “Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann” in Teach Cheoil before going on to the Kilrush Golf Club to meet with “Cost Forbarbhta na Gaeltachta”, a group of Irish language enthusiasts who are working hard to strengthen the Irish Language in West Clare”.
“Later on, he will travel to Ennis where he will visit Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Eireann in Cois na hAbhann on the Gort Road in Ennis before meeting with “An Clár as Gaeilge” at their offices on Anthony’s Terrace in the Town.”

“I am looking forward to Minister McGinley’s visit and to opportunity to show him the many organisations and activities which are supporting the revival of the Irish Language here in County Clare.”
