Need for erection of Additional Warning Signs on the N18 – Breen seeks meeting with the NRA.

October 15th, 2009 - Pat Breen

Fine Gael’s Deputy Spokesperson on Foreign Affairs and Clare T.D. Pat Breen said today that he will be seeking an early meeting with the NRA next week in order to impress on them the need to erect additional warning signs on the N18 Section of the Galway to Shannon Motorway. Deputy Breen’s call follows the recent tragic death of a woman on the Motorway.

“First of all I would to take this opportunity to express my deepest sympathy with the family of the late Mary Doyle RIP on their tragic loss.”

“Next week, I will be seeking an urgent meeting with the NRA to discuss safety on this stretch of motorway. It is very important that proper signage is in place so that road safety can be improved. The NRA must take immediate steps to erect additional warning signs similar to those which they have erected on other Motorways throughout the Country.

“I will be making these points to the NRA when I meet with them.”
