New Ennistymon Community School to move to Planning Stage – Minister Pat Breen.

The advancement of a new state of the art secondary school for Ennistymon to planning stage has been described as the beginning of the end of a long process, by Minister for Employment and Small Business Pat Breen.

“I am pleased that we are now at the stage where the building can begin to progress. The campaign to amalgamate the three secondary schools – CBS Secondary School, Scoil Mhuire and Ennistymon Vocational Schools into one facility – is coming to a close and I look forward to the first sod been turned on a new amalgamated Community College for Ennistymon within the year,” said Mnister Breen.

“The Department of Education granted permission for the project to advance to the planning stage, fire cert and DAC and the preparation of tender documents has been issued to the school,” he said.

“For three decades the local schools and board of managements campaigned for a new community college and I was very happy to lend my support to their campaign. They have spent endless hours pursuing this project and I would again like to pay tribute to them for their hard work and dedication.

“As a result of this hard work the second level students of Ennistymon can now look forward to a state of the art facility in which to learn, study and grow,” added Minister Breen.
